inspired by heartfelt emotions

You’ll never guess what happened to my family last week!!!  
I’ll try and make it short….

I got an audition for the whole family…Lily, Tristan, Andy and me.  It was for a “credit card protection” company…or so  we thought.  We had 2 callbacks.  Then Nick, the casting director, said the Executives are flying out to meet us. Nick , who is such a nice guy, felt so bad we had to come to another callback he said he’d like to take us all out to lunch before our meeting.

So, last Monday we went to Stanley’s on Ventura Blvd in Los Angeles.  We had a great lunch on the back patio. 

At the end of lunch Nick excused himself to go to the bathroom.  So, we waited and all of a sudden we see Reese Witherspoon coming towards our table.  Lily is quietly freaking out because she loves here so much. 
I’m like, “Oh my gosh…she’s looking at us…why is she looking at us and smiling.”  “She’s coming towards our table.”  “She’s at our table…no way!!!”   She said, “Hi, do you know who I am?”  Lily said, “Yea, your Reese Witherspoon!”  We are now all looking at each other totally confused.  She said, “Thanks for Standing Up 2 Cancer.”  We were still sooo confused.  Then she said, “You just filmed a national MasterCard and Stand Up 2 Cancer commercial.”

OMG!  Then all the people in the restaurant started clapping.  They were all actors.  Then the camera crew came out.  There were probably 60 crew people. 
They had hidden cameras everywhere.  And hidden mics in the plant on our table.

We had no idea this was happening!!!!

Then the Director loved Lily so much he asked if she could cry for him when Reese comes out so he could get it on tape.  She loooved it!  Then he asked if Lily would like to read the PSA that Reese was going to read.  So, Lily then was filmed reading 5 “Queue cards”.  The first line was “Hi, I’m Reese Witherspoon and I Stand Up 2 Cancer”.  Then the Director said…can we cross that out and have it say, “Hi, I’m, Lily Detwiler…”

Can you believe it?!!!

Then people kept congratulating us for getting National Commercial…and saying “Can you say residual?”  This was a dream and I can’t believe this just happened.

We are still smiling!!!

It starts airing tonight, July 12^th, during the Major League baseball All Star game on FOX  5:00 PST.  They told us it will be airing on all the major networks through September 1^st.

Oh, and they said we are now SAG members.  My daughter,Lily, was freaking out!
